Sarah is the founder of the 501(c)3 nonprofit Elf Army of Light, a non-religious organization providing support, community, and resources for bereaved families experiencing pregnancy loss and infant death which was founded after the death of her daughter. They create comfort boxes to provide to parents in hospitals as these families were unable to gather for closure. The boxes are funded completely with donations.

Sarah is a liasion with the New York Life Foundation and initiatives like the Coalition for Grieving Students and the Brave of Heart Fund, of which she is a trained presenter.
